Advantages and disadvantages of solar panels

Advantages of solar panels:

– lower electricity bills, which means saving money

– do not pollute the environment

– easy transport of the installation – the weight of one panel is about 15 kg – they are not heavy

-The operation of solar panels is inaudible

-the price. Which is also a disadvantage. Although the initial costs are higher, once installed they provide free energy that will pay off the initial costs very quickly. So they are a worthwhile investment in the long term

– during a power outage, you can use all devices in the house – TV, laptop, kitchen, all machines, etc.

– There is no radiation, no release of harmful chemicals, i.e. toxins, and therefore they do not represent a health or environmental problem when they are installed in your home.

Disadvantages of solar panels – things that the manufacturers themselves will certanly not tell you

– the price again. Initial costs are higher for the entire system, and that’s why many people put off installing it. The price goes up to several thousand euros, it depends on the household, of course.

– they don’t work at night

– in winter, when they are covered by snow, they cannot work.

 – Air pollution affects the operation of the panel. They do not pollute the air, but the smog itself reduces their effectiveness. In rural areas, solar panels have a higher efficiency than in urban areas due to the industrial zone

 – If the house where you put the panels is under the shadow of a tree or building, they will have less efficiency because the shadow bothers them.
