Types of solar panels – which type should you choose?
1 – MONOCRYSTALLINE PANELS – have only one silicon crystal. The higher its purity, the more efficient they are. Their production is more expensive, and that is why their price is higher. However, in terms of energy and the space itself, they are more profitable since, with a smaller surface area of the panels, you get more energy.
2 – POLYCRYSTALLINE PANELS – the name itself suggests that they are made of more crystals. Their production is fast, but the efficiency is lower (10-15%). Therefore, their price is also lower.
We can concluce that the difference between these two types is both in price and in efficiency, but it is obvious that, in the long run, the first type of panel is worth it – monocrystalline panels.
If you have enough space on the roof, you can choose the second type, but if you have a smaller space, which is the case with most households, then the first option is definitely better for you .
3 -THIN- FILM SOLAR PANELS – there are rarely used for homes. They stick to any surface. They are made in thin films (they are flexible) and can be placed even on uneven surfaces. Their price is higher compared to mono and poly. For example, they can be placed on the roof of a car, on the roof of a yacht, etc.
